Company bosses have said the strike will be illegal because the protest has not been backed by all trade unions at LOT.

Union leader Monika Żelazik said: "We will protest until employees' expectations are met."

She added that the strike decision came after more than three years of negotiations with the airline over pay.

Asked how the strike would affect passengers, Żelazik said that LOT flights may not be able to take off or may be hit by delays.
