Eleven buildings, including five residential properties, were damaged on Sunday, while firefighters were called out 107 times to clear roads blocked by trees that were knocked down by gales.

Fire crews also pumped water out of 447 basements. Lightning started five fires.

More than 4,000 firefighters and 800 fire trucks were involved in clearing the damaged caused by the storms on Sunday, fire brigade spokesman Paweł Frątczak said.
