Some of the children were in serious condition, private radio broadcaster RMF FM reported.

A bus carrying around 40 schoolchildren and their guardians was in a collision with a truck and a passenger car near the village of Tenczyn, some 60 km south of the city of Kraków, according to public broadcaster Polish Radio.

Five ambulances and an air rescue helicopter were at the site, Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The children on the coach were pupils from a Warsaw school who were returning from a trip to the southern mountain resort of Zakopane, according to the PAP news agency.
