Morawiecki said after a meeting of his Cabinet that around 4 million hectares of 14 million hectares of land used to cultivate agricultural crops in Poland have been hit by drought.
He added that losses for farmers “may turn out to be very significant."
Morawiecki told reporters that the government did not aim to "leave farmers alone" in facing their problems.
Jan Krzysztof Ardanowski was officially appointed Poland's agriculture minister earlier on Wednesday after his predecessor Krzysztof Jurgiel quit earlier this week.
Morawiecki said there would be “no honeymoon period” for Ardanowski.
