A MiG-29 military jet crashed near the town of Pasłęk in northern Poland at around 2 am on Friday, public broadcaster Polish Radio's IAR news agency reported.

The pilot died despite ejecting before the crash, officials said.

Defence Minister Mariusz Błaszczak told reporters that “all flights using MiG-29 aircraft have been put on hold” pending findings by a state commission of aviation experts.
