State news agency PAP reported that a helicopter has been called out 35 times since the beginning of the school summer holidays in Poland on June 23.
No fatal accidents were reported last month, even though crowds have been taking to mountain trails.
The Tatras are among Poland’s most popular tourist destinations. Almost 3.5 million visitors head to the region every year, according to PAP.
Last month a number of trails in the mountains were closed after heavy rain turned normally quiet streams into torrents.
