Winter arrives with a vengeance in Poland

Drivers have been warned to take care on slippery roads and to make sure they have winter tyres on their cars.

The Government Centre for Security has also advised motorists to tank up on fuel before they head out on the road and to have their telephones charged.

Officials have warned against drinking as a way to warm up, and called on Poles to keep an eye out for anyone who may need help as a result of the cold.
