25 dead from flu within week in Poland

Twenty-five people died from flu and over 250 came down with influenza and similar viruses last week, experts have said.

The country’s chief flu expert, Prof. Lidia Brydak, was cited as saying on Monday that the latest fatalities brought the influenza-related death toll to 48 since the flu season began in October.
Over 9,600 people diagnosed with flu have been hospitalised since October, up by 10.7 percent year on year, according to the Rzeczpospolita daily.
A total of 2.42 million cases of confirmed and suspected cases of flu have been recorded over the past four months.
