Tennis: Poland’s Linette into 2nd round of US Open doubles

Poland’s Magda Linette and her partner Ajla Tomljanović have made it into the second round of the women's doubles at the US Open tennis tournament in New York.

Linette and Tomljanović, who comes from Croatia but represents Australia, on Wednesday beat Nadiia Kichenok and Anastasia Rodionova 6-2, 6-1.
Linette and Tomljanović next take on Lesley Kerkhove of the Netherlands and Belarus’s Lidziya Marozava.
The latter pair on Wednesday defeated Poland’s Alicja Rosolska and her American partner Abigail Spears 6-4, 6-4 in the doubles.
Linette crashed out of the women's singles at the US Open in the first round on Monday, as did her countrywoman Agnieszka Radwańska.
Meanwhile, Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz has made it through to the second round of the singles.
